Restaurant ‘Da Vittorio’
The restaurant still bears the name of its famous founder, Don Vittorione Pastori, who opened it in 1950. He made it into Varese’s most important eating place, as well as a well-known destination in the countryside surrounding Milan. In 1968 Don Vittorione put his restaurant into the worthy hands of his successor, Sig. Pierino Baila, noted for his delicious specialties flambés, celebrated by the famous Italian critic Veronelli. Sig. Baila and his wife Maria directed the restaurant with great love and dedication until 1998. Now it’s the time of lady-Chef Graziella: coming from Veneto she is able to cook both typical italian tagliolini with seafood and traditional inland recipes (such as eggplant parmesan!). She’s a lady who wants to take Ristornate Da Vittorio back to the past splendors, preferring natural cooking and seasonal tastes. Her new style makes the place warmer, like it was in the older days, when each customer could leave a mark of themselves. Graziella is as in love with this traditional Restaurant as the previous wellknown Chefs Don Vittorione and Signor Pierino: she’s the lady-chef who’s taking up the challenge, because in the end humility and spontaneity make you always do your very best .
