Early in the morning we are waiting for Mrs. Nicoletta with breakfast who personally with such passion: first the bread with yeast both white and wholemeal, the Varese farmhouse cheeses accompanied by organic orange marmalade, ham and salami cut at the time, honey varesina of production, farm butter, seasonal fruit, and all the other goodies of a full continental breakfast. If you have problems with gluten or any other need Nicoletta will think as a mom.


Restaurant ‘Da Vittorio’

The restaurant still bears the name of its famous founder, Don Vittorione Pastori, who opened it in 1950. He made it into Varese’s most important eating place, as well as a well-known destination in the countryside surrounding Milan. In 1968 Don Vittorione put his restaurant into the worthy hands of his successor, Sig. Pierino Baila, noted for his delicious specialties flambés, celebrated by the famous Italian critic Veronelli. Sig. Baila and his wife Maria directed the restaurant with great love and dedication until 1998. In July, 2007 the restaurant was re-made with much care taken to preserve its atmosphere of times gone by, while modernizing its general structure. The present owners, now offer their special highly-refined version of Italian home cooking. They are carrying on the traditions of a unique restaurant where, for more than 50 years, the famous and the less-famous have left their expressions of pleasure to echo inside its walls. Thus we now have the rare magic of a timeless place, created by the hearts and spirits of all those who have loved it.
