A day …in the parks
Varese, a holiday destination since the eighteenth century, boasts many green spaces where, in the shadow of monumental trees, you can admire valuable historic homes.
Walking on foot through the city you can admire some of the first examples of Art Nouveau in the early twentieth century homes.
Excursions to the lake
In locations Schiranna (reachable by car or city bus – line N), begins the path along the pedestrian and cycle track for those who love to spend leisure sport immersed in nature. The tour allows you to come across countless attractive points of interest.
The Sacro Monte of Varese, with its 14 chapels that wind along a cobblestones of about 2 km is undoubtedly the most fascinating Marian itinerary in the world. It is estimated that on the road leading to the Sacromonte are gone, in about 300 years, 60 million pilgrims.
The church, together with the Baptistery, is part of the Collegiate Museum. Both have been decorated by Masolino da Panicale, one of the most important painters in Florence at the time of the transition from International Gothic to Renaissance. Masolino left in Castiglione his masterpiece: the frescoes of the Baptistery, with their fascinating fusion of landscapes and architectures, religious history and Renaissance setting, make the chapel, painted in every centimetre, one of the best achievements of the early Italian Renaissance.
The Palazzo Estense is a Baroque palace built for the Francesco III d’Este and the House of Este.

The Varese honey has quality characteristics superior to those required by the standards: absolute authenticity, freshness, moisture percentage at minimum values to avoid degradation of the product, fine and uniform crystallization.
Also known as “Amor polenta”, because it contains flour polenta, it is a moist cake, no creams, very soft and light, to eat at any time of the day, great for breakfast or afternoon tea.
